Wear-based leading UK domestic energy and appliance services provider Pacifica Group has made three senior appointments to support its sustained growth, particularly in the appliance repair sector.

Rob Johnson joins the business as field operations director from Electrolux, overseeing Pacifica’s national team of around 230 field-based appliance engineers and ensuring high levels of performance for its customers and consumers.

He will also be responsible for Houghton-le-Spring-based Pacifica’s ongoing engineer recruitment and training programmes to support the expansion of its nationwide appliance service operations and to continuously upskill its team’s capabilities to service and repair multiple manufacturers’ products.

With more than 20 years’ experience in the electrical and consumer products sectors, Rob spent the last six years with Electrolux, which is a customer of Pacifica Group, where he led significant change in its field service operations.

Nigel Hindmarch has been appointed as Pacifica’s new head of supply chain managing operations at Pacifica Group’s component warehouse and distribution centre in Washington.

Nigel, who has more than two decades experience in the logistics sector, and is relocating to the North-East to take on this role, will also run Pacifica’s fleet of more than 400 vehicles and oversee the company’s purchasing department.

Completing the trio of appointments is Stephen Winfield, who has become business performance analyst.

Having previously held a similar role for national transport company Arriva, Stephen will advise Pacifica’s directors with detailed business performance data to support the development of its continuing growth strategy.

In addition to Pacifica Appliance Services, Pacifica Group comprises of Pacifica Home Services and UK Warranty divisions.

The group’s CEO Kevin Brown said: “This is an exciting period at Pacifica Group and the addition of Rob, Stephen and Nigel will play an important part in our continued growth.

“With a greater focus on increasing the lifespan of white products, the home appliance market is strong and presents considerable opportunities for companies that can deliver high levels of service and expertise.

“Enhancing our operational performance will be essential as we expand our market presence and each of these new members of our team bring skills and experience that will make a significant contribution to our business.”

Rob Johnson said: “I have always been impressed with Pacifica Group from my time working with the company at Electrolux.

“It is a very forward-thinking business, which has enjoyed rapid growth and has always been willing to adapt and remain agile to support its customers.

“We are building a talented workforce with the capacity to deal with increased volume of work, populated by skilled people who act as our brand ambassadors and have the capabilities to meet and exceed the requirements of our customers.”

Nigel Hindmarch said: “I was attracted to this role by the clear enthusiasm and professionalism at Pacifica Group.

“It is a company that demonstrates its commitment to its customers on a daily basis through traditional service values delivered through a dynamic, modern approach.

“This is a fast-paced environment, which, as we grow our domestic appliance and energy systems installation and repair operations, will continue to rely on a well-run logistics operation to ensure our engineers can access the equipment and parts they need in a timely manner.”

Stephen Winfield said: “The structure within Pacifica Group encourages career progression and also perfectly marries a corporate structure with a collaborative, cross-business approach that encourages people throughout the business to contribute to its growth and success.

“I am keen to develop the use of the valuable data the business generates every day to help evolve its strategies and remain agile and proactive as our core markets evolve.”
