Ramside Hall Hotel, Golf Club and Spa has been given the highest award following a re-inspection by environmental health inspectors.
The five-star food hygiene rating comes after the Durham hotel carried out the remedial work required following a one-star rating in January.
The Ramside has also received a 100 per cent award for cleanliness, hygiene and the physical structure of the premises.
The fresh assessment of the award-winning hotel is a welcome boost for managing director of Ramside Hall Hotel, Golf Club and Spa, John Adamson who owns a number of establishments across the North East which will be impacted by the Covid19 virus.
John said: “This is a very challenging time for the hospitality industry and we are very glad that the inspector knows we took his comments very seriously and immediately carried out all the necessary work.
“A five star rating reflects the standards that we have in place and we hope that this will reassure the public and our corporate clients that Ramside Hall Hotel is very much open for business.”
The Ramside complex on the outskirts of Durham includes number of restaurants including the Rib Room, Fusion and Pemberton Carvery.
The Food Standards Agency’s website has not updated he re-assessment yet but the Ramside rating is expected to be changed next week.
