A Durham-based transport consultancy has had its expertise and excellence in road safety design recognised by a national body.
Two members of Dynamic Transport Planning – a company that specialises in road design – have been confirmed as members of the Society of Road Safety Auditors (SoRSA), enhancing the DTP team’s qualifications for undertaking Road Safety Audits.
Road Safety Audits (RSAs) are undertaken when new highway schemes are being designed and implemented, involving an independent review by a specialist road safety team focusing specifically on the safety aspects and implications of proposals, which are often related to new developments or road improvement schemes.
During the last three years, Dynamic Transport Planning has completed Road Safety Audits at locations across the UK and the team has now added to their experience with further professionally accredited memberships.
Director Gavin Snowball and associate Becky Hesketh have been confirmed as SoRSA members, completing the annual review process for the membership which is awarded by the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT).
Becky has had her membership confirmed for the first time whilst Gavin has previously been an SoRSA member.
Gavin also holds the Highways England Certificate of Competency in Road Safety Audits.
This qualification means that the Mandale Business Park-based team is able to undertake Road Safety Audits on all sites including those that are located on trunk roads and motorways – the strategic road network, managed by Highways England.
Gavin said “DTP is committed to providing effective and efficient solutions for our clients as well as ensuring our team continue to develop and enhance their knowledge and qualifications.
“The SoRSA annual review process includes a robust evaluation of experience and practical examples of works therefore having membership confirmed is a great endorsement of the team’s experience.”
Dynamic Transport Planning Ltd was founded in October 2017 in Manchester and relocated to Durham in 2019.
DTP works with developers, planners and architects to secure planning permission for new developments for all types of schemes including housing, retail and employment schemes.
